Pros

The corporate support office in Elmhurst, IL is pretty awesome I have to admit. Great atmosphere, great people, excellent centralized host for our employees to gather from accross the country. Love the culture it drives. Listen, I am not the biggest fan of anything "Ra Ra" especially in my work life. New Home Star has a genuine culture that you can't help but feel, enjoy and want to actively participate in. I actually enjoy damn near every one of my 300+ colleagues (and I know them too), I want to help grow and develop the company's trajectory and put in my work plus some. Why? Because I'm able to navigate through the seasons in life we all have. I am able to grow my professional career, family, health, social circle, income, and more and it doesn't have to be all at once. It's okay to fail - they encourage it. If you are competitive, value professional growth and development, enjoy winning, and actually building relationships in an organization, this is the best place possible IMO.

Cons

The company is young; still under 15 years since inception and just passed that key 10-year milestone. Real Estate is a cyclical industry and has its own pressures, challenges, and politics? maybe? I personally love that stuff. I want to be part of one of our largest industry's from a GDP perspective, I want to flip an old archaic industry on its head using innovation, technology, and strategy. There isn't a 500-page tutorial handbook on every single thing one must do at NHS so you need to be willing to ask questions, take on responsibility, raise your hand and give input. You aren't going to maximize your success within the org. if you plan on hiding in a corner with your headphones on and have zero interaction with colleages. Pro and a Con I suppose.

Thank you for sharing your insight from your time at the Corporate Support Office! It's great to hear that enjoy working with and have gotten to know so many other employees across the country. It is truly special that each of our local divisions, including the Corporate Support Office, are able to have the feeling of a close knit local team but also knowing there's the power of a nearly 400 person national company behind you to learn and grow from. Keep up the good work and let us know if we can ever help to provide you your most excellent career!

Pros

Company culture is everything at NHS, which remains my biggest highlight. I’ve genuinely felt valued here from the start. It doesn’t feel like you’re just another number; there’s a real effort to recognize people and make them feel seen. Teams are supportive, and people actually want their peers to succeed. It’s an environment where you can grow while also feeling appreciated for your contributions.

Cons

Like any growing organization, there are occasional growing pains as the company continues to evolve. Processes and priorities can shift, but that’s also part of what comes with progress and expansion.

Pros

New Home Star is one of those companies that really lives its values. The culture is supportive, driven, and genuinely focused on helping people grow. It’s fast-paced, and expectations are high—but that’s part of what makes it a great place to work if you like being challenged and learning constantly. What stands out most is how forward-thinking the company is. From technology to training to how teams collaborate, New Home Star is consistently ahead of the curve in the homebuilding space. They’re not stuck doing things “the old way,” and they actually invest in tools and systems that make people better at their jobs. It’s not perfect—no company is—but leadership listens, good work is recognized, and there’s a real sense of momentum. If you’re motivated, adaptable, and want to be part of something that’s growing and evolving, New Home Star is a great place to be.

Cons

The pace and expectations can be demanding at times, especially during busy seasons or major initiatives. Things move quickly, priorities can shift, and there’s a constant push to improve and adapt. While that creates a lot of opportunity, it can also feel intense if you prefer a slower, more predictable environment.
