      Awful place to work at - Lead Data Scientist New Relic Employee Review

      Pros

      I was a lead in product analytics team. My team members and manager were great but thats the only positive things I can say about my tenure at New Relic. Pay was decent

      Cons

      The management is absolutely horrible. I never had any meaningful work because the teams we would work with had no clear goals. Frequent issues between analytics teams and engineering team (data platform). Data platform team constantly tries to migrate from one platform to another and that keeps them busy. Stakeholders are neither data savvy nor really product oriented. I felt like everyone at New Relic is just working on their exit plan. Teams just hire to bloat up numbers. The CRO is a joke of a person. CTO was terrible too but he left. Half the company exits have been to GitLab. The CEO, Ashan, is a coward who took the decision to lay off folks but didnt have the guts to speak to company about it. I am glad am out of the mess and I frankly am amazed that the company hasn't imploded.

      Pros

      New Relic truly walks the walk. I love that the company leans into a Challenger Mindset; it creates a dynamic where we are always improving and staying ahead of the curve. Even as a new hire, my perspective feels valued. Beyond the tech, the culture is unprecedented. Everyone is incredibly helpful and stays Accountable to one another. It’s rare to find a place that is this friendly while still maintaining a high bar for getting work done.

      Cons

      Still in the honeymoon phase, but navigating the vast amount of internal documentation can be a bit of a whirlwind during the first month; definitely feel like "drinking from a fire hose." While the team is supportive, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming for a newcomer.

      Man, this was a great company back in the day. Almost everyone is gone now.

      Cons

      Horrific middle management. This was all a long time ago though. The people I worked with are all gone.
