Pros

New relic is a great complex to work for because its name because of its reach and size. The birds and salary are pretty good or were pretty good. However the company got acquired by private equity fund which means that cutting cost is a big thing now which means cutting heads and cutting any costs in tools

Cons

Lack of focus on data access and data transparency which leads to decisions made based on gut feeling. What I mean is that the team doesn't have access do a reliable data source to understand segments of customers how they use the product how often what they do how much they're paying... My personal take on you relic is there is a culture and a buys of building and shipping as equivalent of delivering value which is not especially if you don't have an adequate culture of validation if the product you're building is truly working a nd solving customers problems

Pros

New Relic truly walks the walk. I love that the company leans into a Challenger Mindset; it creates a dynamic where we are always improving and staying ahead of the curve. Even as a new hire, my perspective feels valued. Beyond the tech, the culture is unprecedented. Everyone is incredibly helpful and stays Accountable to one another. It’s rare to find a place that is this friendly while still maintaining a high bar for getting work done.

Cons

Still in the honeymoon phase, but navigating the vast amount of internal documentation can be a bit of a whirlwind during the first month; definitely feel like "drinking from a fire hose." While the team is supportive, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming for a newcomer.

Man, this was a great company back in the day. Almost everyone is gone now.

Cons

Horrific middle management. This was all a long time ago though. The people I worked with are all gone.
