      Pros

      Extremely driven and humble colleagues at top of field. Flow of top design talent means real ecosystem of design. Good work life balance for the most part. Certainly in comparison to design studios and agencies. Very good salaries and benefits. Mission is humbling.

      Cons

      Trouble with design talent retention. Big freelance culture in newsroom. Getting hired full time can be very difficult. Lots of internal politics and bureaucracy. Design teams work in silos.

      Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
