Pros
NewsCred creates fantastic opportunities for its employees to grow and build a career, but you have to pursue these. You will be rewarded with more responsibility if you demonstrate your desire to make the business better and solve problems. No one is going to tell you how or what you should do; it's up to you to find these and solve real business problems. I started as an analyst on the business development team, saw an opportunity for the company, solved the problem, and was rewarded with more responsibility. Eventually, I was promoted to Director of Product Strategy and sat on the management team. I've worked for many companies and none of those rewarded their employees and promoted them as quickly. These chances will not be given to you. To get the most out of NewsCred, it's up to you. My career took a major leap due to the time I spent at NewsCred, and many others have had the same happen, like the CFO and VP of Marketing. Some of my best friendships started at NewsCred. The culture celebrates wins, and the trenches of building a business created bonds that I hope will last a lifetime.
Cons
There's very little management provided. You have to be self-directed and set your own goals. I assume, however, that NewsCred is working on this as it grows. Many people want (including me) formal training and mentorship.
