Pros
I genuinely liked most of the people I worked with; they were some of the most passionate and dedicated people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. I was really sad to leave my boss.
Cons
Where to begin…all of the departments are essentially pitted against each other by design because department goals don’t incentivize thinking outside of your department, and the culture is “running things up the chain” when they don’t like to hear what you have to say. There are lanes and you have to stay in them. Big titles are handed out like candy to really inexperienced people because they don’t cost as much, and seasoned people have to fight tooth and nail to get reasonable titles and compensation. I gave a pretty thorough exit interview and HR seemed supportive, but I’m pretty sure they never addressed any of the problem folks (because I have friends who still work there and I know nothing changed). Also, laying folks off when you are actively advertising open positions…I honestly don’t even know what to say about that.
