Pros

The people - the culture within my team was incredible. Non-managers supported each other immensely and want to see each other succeed.

Cons

Where to start… Pay is uncompetitive and far below industry standards. They offer “equity,” but it’s essentially a hollow promise; there’s no realistic prospect of the company going public within the next five years, and buybacks are off the table. It’s just there to give a false sense of incentive. CED is complete chaos. Efforts to help are misguided, as many lack any relevant experience in the field. The executive team has no clear direction for Nexamp’s future. We’re constantly lagging 3-5 years behind competitors, especially when it comes to new products. Marketing is under relentless pressure to generate leads, yet there’s little alignment with the fact that the farms are already struggling to be filled. Operations overextends itself, trying to control every aspect, even as turnover skyrockets. The leader here feels out of touch, driven by ego and surrounded by yes-people who aren’t empowered to question anything. Nexamp isn’t necessarily a “toxic” workplace, but it’s a hard place to be when the compensation doesn’t match the demands.

Nexamp Response

At Nexamp, we’re building more than just a company; we’re building a legacy in clean energy. We firmly believe that nothing worth doing is easy, and this is no exception. For those who share that vision and are ready to work hard to achieve it, we believe that Nexamp is the place to be. However, we recognize that feedback is critical to growth and appreciate you sharing your perspective. To suggest that Nexamp is lagging behind our competitors simply doesn’t align with the reality of our industry position. Over the past year, we’ve taken significant strides forward, from expanding our portfolio, to leading the industry in innovative clean energy solutions. This growth has not come easily, nor did we expect it to, but every member of the Nexamp team has contributed to these successes, and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together. We’d like to directly address a few additional points that you raised: Leadership and Strategic Direction: Building a company for long-term success is no small feat, and we’ve made deliberate decisions to prioritize sustainable growth over short-term wins. Our leadership team is not only experienced but also deeply committed to driving innovation and shaping the clean energy future. Many team members have risen through the ranks over the years, growing into leadership roles through their hard work and determination—a testament to Nexamp’s focus on career development and internal growth opportunities. Workload and Collaboration: We recognize that driving transformative change in the clean energy sector comes with challenges. While pressure is inevitable in a high-growth environment, our culture encourages collaboration, open communication, and team-driven solutions. It’s what has allowed us to deliver unparalleled results time and time again. Nexamp’s position as the largest community solar developer in the country is no accident—it is the result of years of expertise, innovation, and the relentless drive of our dedicated team. It is unfortunate that this review misrepresents the reality of working at Nexamp, overlooking the significant growth we’ve achieved thanks to the commitment of our team across all levels and departments. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns more directly, feel free to reach out to peoplepartners@nexamp.com.
