Executive leadership lacks ability to take us to the next level as they are market followers and lack good ideas on how to differentiate and grow. There is very little accountability at senior levels, particularly in the Channel acquisitions team. The Policy team doesn’t have KPIs and only reports the news instead of actually getting strategic initiatives pushed through in places where the company wants to go. I can’t point to a single thing they’ve actually done other than say “hey this thing happened.” Strategy-wise, very much market followers and not innovative. If others in the space are doing it, then Nexamp has to do it too. The CED team is notoriously bad at designing and building projects, particularly when it comes to adhering to safety standards and making everything technically sound. The compensation structure for employees doesn’t make sense with BD, Channel, Finance, and Strategy all being paid essentially by salary and commission and the rest of the company being compensated via salary and a bonus that never gets paid out 100%. The stock options are a real joke. Zaid likes to say we’re all owners of the company. Sure if you have $100k to drop on the options when the company isn’t doing buy backs and talks of IPO are constantly pushed out. Leaders are not trained how to be leaders. There are too many VPs and Zaid likes it when they are in the weeds, so there is an overall lack of strategic direction as the people who should be thinking about that are too mired in the details. There truly is no possibility of career growth at the company unless you’re in BD or Channel. There is no opportunity to be entrepreneurial about solving problems. Lots of finger pointing and some are territorial to the point of actually throwing people under the bus and getting them fired.
