Pros
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work at a startup that's a stable business and with 400 employees? Nexient gets very close to emulating this feeling and that's a good thing.
You work in pods per clientele, but seats aren't necessarily always assigned. As such, it feels like you're working at startup within a larger company.
Expect to be able to move where you feel like you work best. In a corner? Fine. Under Christmas lights? Fine. The middle of the kitchen? Fine.
You get to work with a diverse set of co-workers, too. Your friends you develop work on different projects and end up adding value to the project you're working on, which is nice.
Other reviews state that Nexient covers up for their mistakes with a gym, videogame consoles, monthly cake, etc... but, I want to say that I don't use any of those. I think Nexient has an excellent environment with or without those nice things. I simply get to work in the morning and leave when I'm finished working. But, the nice things are nice. Let's not get rid of them, lol.
Cons
No 401k match and expensive insurance for families.
Things take a while and sometimes it feels like I don't have a place to go when I have a general question that doesn't relate to code.
Establishing my own "go-to" person that isn't HR to ask personal and (often work-related) non-code questions is difficult. Nexient could help with this: instead of nudging partnerships, force one or two.
