Pros

Potential for high earnings via commission only pay structure.

Cons

Hostile work environment. The company will chew you up through manipulative, unreasonable, and illogical expectations. You’ll be expected to cold call 50-100 local businesses per day, and will be required to setup an unrealistic number of meetings via these calls. They know the number can’t be hit, they just prefer their employees to be motivated by fear of repercussion. While simultaneously gaslighting us into believing it’s easy, our fault for leads not producing, and that if we did our jobs properly we would be receiving tons of bonuses. You’ll never be able to take time off or ignore calls or emails with this job. No matter the time or place. 1 out of 6 new hires make it 6 months in this position. That should say everything. And it’s not even due to the responsibilities of the job. It’s because of the leadership and culture of the company.

Pros

I think your enjoyment with this company comes entirely from the local team you work with. My team is GREAT - For our size, we're a very high performing station in the company and the best in our market. The sales department has its hiccups but works really well together when it matters most. If you're aiming for career growth you need to be strategic with what position you start in. Pay sucks at first but you get an annual raise and I've gotten multiple performance raises (I've worked here for 5 years and I'm making almost 13k more than when I started). Work life balance totally depends on your job. - Health insurance - Great (specialized) experience - Local station recognition - Pretty stable employment (in the sales department, at least)

Cons

- Layoffs in other departments - Corporate decisions make work much harder fort he people these decisions affect - Acquisition of Tegna - PTO policy could really use a change (especially for Holidays)
