Turnover of new employees seems high. The hiring process needs to improve. Maybe the firing process too. It's not like Zenefits but Nextiva can be much better than it is. I’d rather give 4 and a half stars overall. But the opportunity and what I’ve been doing at nextiva has been too good to knock them down a point. I know that some people just don’t fit in. But there still needs to be a better job of setting expectations, hiring people, or getting people knowledgeable about the company. From my lens it just doesn’t feel right. Turnover is expensive and the company can save money and be so much better if the right people are hired and supported the right way from the get go. This isn’t a Zenefits situation that was hiring college kids that came to party and not to work, so don’t get me wrong. I get frustrated when I hear about someone leaving or getting fired and I don’t know what is being done to make this better. For a company that’s been around for so long it needs to be better. I want to be at Nextiva for a long time and I wish the people I started with would be in the same position. I’ve learned that it’s not the kind of company where you come in and do the standard time and move up the ladder. You have to stand out and take charge. I got this advice from my first manager and it’s helped but it’s not a philosophy that’s promoted enough and that may be one reason why people leave. Because they don’t know. If you are not bought in to the company, it’s a tough place to come to every day.
