Pros
Excellent salary, bonuses, 401(k), vacation days available and health care benefits, which are the lowest cost I've experienced in my career. The company works hard to make the work environment safe, enjoyable and rewarding. The management truly cares about the employees and the community. Joe Hamrock is a strong leader with an excellent vision and a great implementation plan for that vision. I am very surprised at the amount of negativity in many of the reviews on this site for NiSource. Nothing is handed to you in life - you still need to work hard, deliver quality work and do what is expected of your job, which is how you get ahead in any career. Quality work is properly rewarded and recognized here.
Cons
The I/T contract with IBM does not provide us with quality support in all areas. We use the inferior Lotus Notes application and the poor IBM Lenovo laptops, which slows down productivity and efficiency.
