Pros

Relaxed remote work policy. Scope of work can be challenging and fulfilling at times.

Cons

Too much offshoring of jobs to incompetent drones who have zero capability of original thinking. Almost impossible to move up or even laterally unless you came up through the Emerging Leaders program. I was surrounded by Millennials who had been promoted once, twice, some even 3 times while I and my team worked our butts off just to be overlooked when it came time for due recognition. Really takes the wind out of your sails when you're twice as knowledgeable and work longer hours and generally harder than some kid who gets promoted into management because they went through a particular channel. I seriously don't understand how the bloated redundant management in Nielsen's tech space can function with so many unnecessary talking heads sucking up air and doing absolutely nothing. I couldn't throw a rock without hitting 5 managers, 7 directors, and a gang of VPs. Seems everyone except the grunts has a shiny title! Only problem is, nobody knows what their purpose is. Speaking of, I would like to add my "+1" to the high volume of negative comments regarding Nielsen's inept HR staff. They are quite literally the worst! Their communication skills are appalling. The whole HR program at Nielsen needs to be flushed and revamped from the top all the way down.

Pros

Absolutley nothing. Which is a tragedy, because Nielsen was once an absolutely great place to work. I wanted to retire here. The culture used to be great, and I really loved being a part of this place. I loved my team, my management, and the people. Then along came the current CEO who is the classic example of a person who knows the cost of everything, but the value of nothing. He took over and ran the company full speed ahead in to the iceberg. And to try and save the sinking ship, he laid off literally thousands of highly experienced, highly trained, and highly engaged people to replace them with fresh overseas hires who know nothing about the company and expect them to be trained from the ground up to replace literally centuries of collective expererience and client relations. It's a disaster. This CEO shouldn't be trusted to run a lemonade stand.

Cons

Everything. Pay, job security, culture, management. Nothing is good here anymore. Don't take a job here unless you are truly desperate. And even then, it should only be as a stop-gap until you can find something else.
