Pros
Nielsen offers remote work but how often depends upon who you report to
Cons
Nielsen has steadily laid off employees since 2006 with the pace picking up since the latest acquisition by private equity. Currently, I am told, the layoffs occur every payday. Morale is habitually low. While there are many wonderful people to work with, there are others who focus on protecting their knowledge because, as you might expect, they're hoping to keep their jobs by being the only one who knows how to do their work. Who is let go seems to be determined by someone way beyond the immediate supervisor--someone who doesn't know the value of business knowledge and thinks employees are plug-and-play devices.
