Pros
Working at NEI has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. As the IT Manager, I’m given the support and autonomy to manage a fully Apple-based environment that runs seamlessly, from MacBooks for staff to iPads and Apple TVs in every classroom. The IT department is highly specialized, with a team that covers everything from networking to student systems to hardware support. It’s rare to work in such a well-integrated environment where everything is intuitive and designed to work together smoothly. Leadership at NEI is also outstanding. Our CEO is approachable, hands-on, and genuinely cares about the well-being of the team. She actively engages with staff, attends events, and ensures that everyone has the resources they need. On top of that, NEI invests in its people through professional development opportunities and fun team-building events. Performance bonuses, like retention and growth-based bonuses, are also a great way to feel recognized for your work.
Cons
While NEI offers an incredible work environment, the fast-paced nature of the organization can be a challenge for some. The high expectations require time management and the ability to adapt quickly. Being in IT, there’s often a need to stay on top of new tech or system updates, which can sometimes mean juggling multiple projects at once. That said, these challenges are part of the dynamic work culture that pushes everyone to grow and succeed, but they can be demanding at times.
