Pros

A range of questions from different staff members

Cons

Staff seemed checked out while on summer break; some mentioning it was "a day before fourth of July." Interviewer was late for Zoom and conversation over phone. Other virtual interviewer, who was principal, had child on call and was frequently focused on him, rather than person being interviewed. Questions often seemed racially charged and filled with microagressions. It seems like their mind was made up before the interview started on who they wanted in the role and who would not be suitable for their children. Interviewers seemed to be a clique. Interested in gatekeeping & only allowing their mold of educators to be at their school.

Each day presents significant challenges; therefore, new teachers must acquire skills and perform responsibilities with precision and efficiency to minimize mistakes.

Pros

Decent pay, pretty great benefits, pension,

Cons

Many. No feedback on performance, different noble school allow paras to get summers off, paid/unpaid, must work all summer. It’s so inconsistent. LBS1s at times don’t do their jobs and expect para to lead, yet we don’t get paid for that, prioritize test scores and gpa gaps but not actual learning, all teachers are expected to pass kids at the end of the year. Standards base grading is absolutely hurting these students and their retention in college.
