1. The worst managers I have ever had in my entire career work here. Honestly, never have I had such a large collection of terrible managers to choose from. The abuse that you will feel at their hands will destroy your self-esteem and suck the life right out of you.
2. The "Nordstrom culture" you hear so much about is dead. That was slaughtered at least a year ago, and there is no trace of it remaining. The "culture" you will find here now is more like Survivor, with all the petty backstabbing and general abuse you can picture. If you really liked being part of the popular crowd in highschool, and didn't care at all what anyone thought of you, and were completely okay stabbing people in the back for your own success, then this is the place for you.
3. All the great folks that I worked with were either laid off, shoved out or just quit because they couldn't stand it there any longer. So many great people gone.
4. The Nordstrom family is not involved in the technology side. I think they want to be, but running the stores is their forte, and they have had to allow "outsiders" to come in and keep them up to pace with Amazon, which is why you will find so many former Amazon folks here.
