Technology leadership is literally non existent. CTO lasted 9 months and he did nothing. CIO is retiring and he was a lack of inspiration. There was no strategic direction that lasted more than a few months. Reorg after reorg. There is no guiding compass other than making sure everyone puts their projects in Planview (a status report tracking nightmare). Last year was a tough one. We lost some really great people. If they weren't laid off, many have left voluntarily. I'm a PM and i think the technology org became too managed and influence by "great engineering", but in the process, they forgot that there are also PM's. PM's were reporting to Engineers and there was no career growth or understanding of the PM skillset. Regardless of PM or Technical Engineer, Nordstrom needs to come up with ways to retain talent.
