Great innovative thinkers led teams throughout the company, but those that looked at the old CTO the wrong way and disagreed with the illadvised choices he was making were quickly terminated (at great expense to Nordstrom). Now the newly replaced VPs and directors that are extremely weak, have no ideas of their own and look to the remaining engineering force that hasn't already been poached by companies outside for any bright ideas. Many engineers inside have approached me and others about positions but many wouldn't cut it outside of nordys.
