Pros
At larger stores, you have the opportunity to make a lot of money. You also get a discount, though it is only 20% for a regular employee, and 33% for a manager or 'All Star'. During a few times a year, you are able to up your discount (20-30, 33-40) on anything in the store, and often some brands (usually Nordstrom's own) are 40% off to all employees.
Cons
Company is lying to itself during this rough time in the company. Lack of agility in this market is leaving them behind. As of this review, Nordstrom has posted a nearly 20% quarterly loss, and has only made minimal efforts to its customers (double rewards points, starting sales earlier, more items on Half Yearly Sale for Men) to keep them shopping. Ideally, I'd love to sell items at full price, but nobody is buying them, and therefore was no longer able to afford to work there. Nordstrom pay works on draw, which is great during times which business is hopping, but stingy when it isn't.
