- Despite a recent focus on hiring more women, the numbers keep dropping. I’ll admit that some orgs are better than others, but the one I worked in (5+ years) has minimal female and minority representation across leadership. The director-level alone has 12 people: 11 men and 1 woman.
- As a woman in technology, I knew I would experience some level of misogyny in the workplace. My last year at Nordstrom was terrible. When I brought up concerns to management (grossly inappropriate comments about my body, blatant lack of respect, etc.), I was given excuses and told to ignore, move on.
- Senior leadership is a joke. There is no accountability, ownership, empathy, or diversity.
- The open, fun, compassionate culture I once knew has shifted entirely. While there are still great people who work there, many of them had left by the time I finally resigned.
