Pros

Pay, Retirement, Benefits. That is all.

Cons

No one seems to care about you at all. When I arrived at my location, my point of contact for my job location was nowhere to be found, EVER. His office would be vacant for most of the day. You call him? No answer. You text him? He might answer hours later. With the few conversations I had with him over the phone, he would just let me come into work and leave work whenever I wanted and work whatever days I wanted. Don't get me wrong, that does sound very nice, but when you have limited time to learn everything before you are thrown into the deep end it only hurts you in the end to not spend a proficient amount of time on the job learning everything. You don't really do much in training. The most you will do is sit beside someone in the tower while they do data entry for 12 hours, along with answering a million phone calls. Then, another day you will be in the field driving in circles for 12 hours around the yard taking crews to and from their train. The work/life balance is also bad. You will work a minimum of 12 hours a day. This number can increase depending on the day. Sometimes you will be working during the day, sometimes you will be working overnight.

Pros

Depending on the team you are in, it can be very flexible, and you’ll be working with nice people.

Cons

HR needs to step in more, they are supposed to set a precedent yet it seems like the higher ups in different departments actually set the expectations. Which can be toxic, and some managers clearly don’t know how to manage teams. HR seems to be a nice and fun department, but the rest of the company has lackluster reviews. Also, stop advertising a total rewards package to new hires when you need to work over fiver years to get some benefits and due to the merger they won’t actually get that package. Just raise your base salaries.
