Pros

The job itself is generally low stress in terms of actual work. There’s some computer work and filing, but mostly it’s answering the phones. You can read, color, be on your phone and they generally don’t care. It’s great for someone who is still in school. There’s an employee luncheon and if your store wins the presidents award, you get a gift and another luncheon. The other benefits are pretty standard.

Cons

This job pays minimum wage and is way more of a hassle than it should be. The sales managers are constantly yelling at the sales people and finance managers. The environment feels hostile a lot of the time. While I was there someone had a stress breakdown from being constantly yelled at and never came back. Many sales people quit all the time because of how negative the environment and how poor the compensation plan is. The sales people can make a lot more money working for other dealerships. The finance managers never answer their calls and as a result, the receptionists get yelled at by customers. When they do answer, they never want to take the call. This includes some of the sales managers and service advisors who act personally offended that they need to take a call because it’s their job. No amount of discussion has helped these issues. At this location at least, the receptionists are not allowed to take a pto day without one of the other receptionists agreeing to cover. Typically this mean that either the morning or evening receptionist would have to work a double to give the other girl a day off (7am-9pm). Also there’s no way to plan far in advance because you don’t know if the receptionist you’re asking to cover will still be working there in 4 months. There is a high turnover rate. They do not give 10 minute breaks and you only get one break all day, which is hour for lunch.

The vision is exciting and I know they want to see me grow! It's nice to work in an auto group that cares about their employees and customers. Great medical benefits! Appreciate the support from all of our shared services teams!

Cons

It's time to improve some benefits like our PTO program and 401k.
