Pros
The stories I hear from residents make me feel like I’m taking care of someone close to me. The bond we share when we talk is irreplaceable and it makes me want to do more for them as I possibly can.
Cons
The amount of stress when we are short staffed is through the roof. When cnas have more than enough to deal with and the nurses and med techs don’t help out it gets frustrating. Sometimes cnas don’t get their breaks and the nurses and med techs don’t cover the floor for the cnas to get as much as a 15 min break. This causes burn outs and lack of care when cnas have enough and walk out to get a break.
