Pros

The 'work' itself is easy, unless you're a complete idiot. Which half the guards I've seen hired are.

Cons

Low pay unless you're at a union site. Account manager I had seemed bipolar, and definitely was not qualified for the position. Company in general does not care about its guards. Would have left years sooner if it wasn't so hard to find a job in this state. Working security makes you lazy and out of shape.

Flexible hours. Could study while on the job which was a big deal to me at the time since I was a student.

the only good thing about this job was the schedules. they can work around your availability

Cons

Very Strict and backwards management. just horrible policies, and horrible management. they expect you to fully to be off the phone and every electronics. and i mean NEVER use your phone, or bring any additional electronics to work if not asked for. your site supervisors and management will teach you "blind spots" but will still fire you regardless. They will randomly fire you with no explanations at all and say contact HR, but HR never picks up the phone call, and they never call you back when you leave a voicemail. very very horrible company.
