Pros
-Great work/life balance -Excellent benefits -Strong Company Brand -Good place to learn and start a career -They encourage movement between departments -Good, smart people -Job security -Get to interact with and get to know people in many other departments
Cons
-Pay is significantly under market -Review process not very good/fair -Career progress is typically dictated by one or two individuals; very political -No "up or out" model, i.e. it is not uncommon for someone to hold the same position for 10 years with no promotion. -Those who "suck up" to the right people move up fast; while others who are just as effective may not get noticed. If yo u don't establish yourself as a "fast track" person from the beginning and get cozy with the right people, it is very hard to recover and move up
