Pros

Northside is a growing company that values their employees. This hospital offers a pension and has given merit increases every year for the past 19 years. Northside takes pride in Clinical excellence as well as Service excellence at the bed side. Northside Hospital encourages employees to further their education and climb the ladder. They offer tuition reimbursement and loan repayment program. Northside also pays close attention to Nurse/Patient ratios. Cherokee has a great team approach when we have a high census. Everyone in the hospital communicates and works with each other for the best patient experience.

Cons

Northside is a growing Company and a lot of patients want to be cared for at the Cherokee Campus. Sometimes we are low on Patient rooms but we always find a way to take care of the patients needs. Unfortunately, we have to use a stretcher in the hallway to care for the patient but the Nursing care stays the same. Our beautiful new hospital will help with the volume we have been experiencing.

Pros

Work from home is great

Cons

Was hired with the impression that over-time hours were a perk for my department. Out of nowhere, it was snatched without any warning to allow employees to prepare financially. I am now struggling financially with a disabled kid with no end in sight. Since overtime was snatched, I’ve experienced homelessness, and struggled to pay day to day expenses. The PTO policy is awful Upper management apparently sits in a throne room and regular employees aren’t allowed to even reach out to them. If we do, we’re ignored. Not sure if it’s just my department, but the culture is to not ask questions and to just deal with sudden changes that disrupt workflow as they come Work/Life balance is a myth
