Pros
Northwell Health had developed a great reputation during the pandemic, so it’s a great company to have on your resume to say you have worked there. Benefits are descent, especially if all you funnel your medical needs through Northwell Health Physicians. Benefit information is available to the public if you Google it.
Cons
If you work in HR, TA, or CORP, be prepared for ESCALATION CULTURE, NO support from your managers and leaders who have no idea what you do and demand more of you. NO IN LINE PROMOTIONS in TA. They claim there is growth opportunity, but there isn’t much growth. There is a bit of nepotism but not within the same departments, however leaders use their title to get their relatives through the door. So the application process for growth can be falsified. The blame is on the employee if they can’t move up, however they seemingly have ore-selected candidates for any growth opportunities one can apply to. The Match on your retirement plans is a lot less than other companies, and the vesting period is 6 years (huge turnover at NWH, perhaps that’s why). Benefits are much more expensive at the corporate level than the hospital, so it’s not uniform throughout the system. They aren’t actually diverse and inclusive, especially at the leadership level. Non BIPOC/POC women over 40 are shouldn’t count, because that’s the majority of their staff, but it appears they do so it seems as if they are “diverse and inclusive.” HR does not work together, at all. Partnership should be at all levels, however, since the HR specialties are all separated, there is no real sense of “ONE HR,” aka ONE TEAM. Promotions are mainly seen at executive levels throughout the organization. Lower level staff who make then organization keep running, are left out of the growth opportunity. You have to leave and come back if you want to be considered.
