Where to begin... Growth opportunities do not exist within the department. Upper management is quick to hire from the outside and expect you to train, rather then promote from within. Everything is run off of complete favoritism, and it is obvious when the same people get promoted every time. If you are not part of the select group of "buddies" you have no chance of survival and there can be a sense of bullying. Upper management might be capable at doing their job, but they have zero understanding in proper leadership and respect. HR is joke as well, they give no support to lower staff. They are there to back up upper management ONLY. You can be extremely successful at your job with a proven track record, and they will still find a way to push you out. There is no clear distinction between job titles, and the measure of success is not the same between individuals. Lastly, the feedback I would receive from my upper management was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. It felt like a way to belittle and undermine my skills so I wouldn't feel good enough at the work I provided.
