Pros

LOL could not give even one there are absolutely NONE.

Cons

We all know that any positive review posted here is from HR or upper management. NS-LIJ was and is still the worst experience of my career and I'm sure many will agree. Avoid Patient Accounts at ALL costs unless you enjoy an abusive hostile environment!. HR is a joke, unresposive and turns away from issues and then of course there's the inability to transfer throughout the health system so you are stuck in a mindless, stagnant position in a dept where you are timed when you goto the bathroom and reprimanded for talking. Yes, really. When hurricane Sandy hit and the office was closed due to no electricity you had to use your PTO in order to get paid. Just a disgrace. Management there is a horror and in the real world outside of their bubble they would never survive. Just an inhumane environment like a prison. Don't even think about it I urge you to look elsewhere!

On behalf of our health system, we thank you for this candid feedback. While we never like to hear about a bad experience from any employee, patient or partner, we believe that all feedback helps us grow and get better. Our HR team is a dedicated set of professionals who strive every day to support an open and inclusive work environment. Any employee who feels something is not working well, or has issues to raise, can do so directly with their manager and/or their HR leader. We have a zero tolerance policy in all matters pertaining to an employee stepping forward to share their concerns, meaning no retaliation of any kind is permitted or tolerated. We were extremely proud of our teams’ dedicated efforts during Hurricane Sandy and proud of the way we flexed our programs and policies to accommodate our employees’ needs. We are extremely sorry to hear of your working experience with our Health System and once again, appreciate you sharing your concerns with us. We wish you the very best in your future career.

Thank you for your review as a Program Manager. At Northwell, our leaders are helping us on our quest to redefine healthcare, and without their leadership, we wouldn’t be named Forbes America's Dream Employer. We strive to offer a culture that upholds our values and mission, while also supporting the wants and needs of our patients and team members. Your comments are important to us, which is why we will share them internally.

Pros

The benefits are decent It's a large organization, so there may be many opportunities

Cons

They put on a facade by applying for all the awards in the world. They tout being an amazing workplace with an exceptional culture, but the individual team members don't Truly feel that. Team members are always wearing multiple hats and doing the work of 3-5 people. HR promotes GROW conversations, but department leadership puts you down when you advocate for yourself and work toward promotions Goalposts are always moving. They'll promise you promotions, salary increases, etc., give you false hope, and then pull the rug under you and make you feel completely dissatisfied and like a horrible person for wanting more. They ask you to give them high ratings on the annual employer Perceptyx survey. If you don't, you suffer the consequences. They'll put together an action plan that leads to work falling on your lap to improve things rather than having leadership take accountability and implement positive change. In fact, rather than trying to implement positive change, they will give you dozens of reasons why we should accept the status quo and why there's nothing wrong with how they're operating. They are always in a budget deficit. You'll never get help. They are afraid to go against the grain and be innovative. They always ask what the other health systems are doing, but won't do more Unless you're a physician or nurse, you are not treated well at Northwell
