Pros

Remote Work for many in IT. Good healthcare coverage. Useful tools available. Opportunity to have an major impact on your community.

Cons

There is no work/life balance. By shifting to a hybrid, mostly remote, work environment meetings are routinely scheduled before work hours, during lunch hours and after work hours. Many of us have standing meetings in those windows. Like another reviewer indicated, there is a significant investment in Deloitte. I have not seen what value they bring, nor do I understand why there is a blank check for them without any ROI. Northwell would hate to survey analysts and front line leaders on their opinion on Deloitte's involvement. Illusion of employee engagement. We are living the pizza party meme, where morale is improved by a food drop off in common areas when people may be on site. If you are not on site that day, you are out of luck. I would encourage my EDS colleagues to not attend the "Celebration" event. I know that I have nothing to celebrate from the past 2 years and do want my engagement to be misconstrued as support for current EDS leadership. I'm excited that my day may end at a normal time so I can have my personal time. Many individuals in IT have very unclear and uncertain futures with the organization due to the Epic transformation. Stress in those teams are as high as it is for those on the Epic Transformation project whose Go Live was delayed. Overall, we're all collectively nervous about our futures with the organization.

Thank you for your review as a Program Manager. At Northwell, our leaders are helping us on our quest to redefine healthcare, and without their leadership, we wouldn’t be named Forbes America's Dream Employer. We strive to offer a culture that upholds our values and mission, while also supporting the wants and needs of our patients and team members. Your comments are important to us, which is why we will share them internally.

Pros

The benefits are decent It's a large organization, so there may be many opportunities

Cons

They put on a facade by applying for all the awards in the world. They tout being an amazing workplace with an exceptional culture, but the individual team members don't Truly feel that. Team members are always wearing multiple hats and doing the work of 3-5 people. HR promotes GROW conversations, but department leadership puts you down when you advocate for yourself and work toward promotions Goalposts are always moving. They'll promise you promotions, salary increases, etc., give you false hope, and then pull the rug under you and make you feel completely dissatisfied and like a horrible person for wanting more. They ask you to give them high ratings on the annual employer Perceptyx survey. If you don't, you suffer the consequences. They'll put together an action plan that leads to work falling on your lap to improve things rather than having leadership take accountability and implement positive change. In fact, rather than trying to implement positive change, they will give you dozens of reasons why we should accept the status quo and why there's nothing wrong with how they're operating. They are always in a budget deficit. You'll never get help. They are afraid to go against the grain and be innovative. They always ask what the other health systems are doing, but won't do more Unless you're a physician or nurse, you are not treated well at Northwell
