Pros

The workplace is diverse with lots of great people to work next to. Many have become good friends.I have learned a ton. Pay is kind of okay. New president is really encouraging changes.

Cons

Position is unionized, which effectively pits management against the processors there’s no incentive to innovate or do any more than what is required. My overall experience with HR has not great. They did “jeans Friday” but sent multiple emails explaining not to wears tennis shoes on jeans Friday. Even a on days we could wear Seahawks jerseys and jeans and email sent out reminding us to wear dress shoes only ....with our jersey and jeans.

Thank you for your comments. They are very concerning as they don’t accurately represent NWA. Our dress code changed several years ago. Also, due to our focus on protecting associate health during the pandemic, we closed our offices to the public. With no one coming into the office, we’ve further relaxed our dress code allowing jeans every day. Also concerning is what may be just a lack of understanding in how policies and programs are developed when a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) is in place as it is at NWA—the HR team develops corporate policies based on the CBA, the bargaining process and needs of managing the business. This is very different than in other organizations, so the confusion is understandable. Benefits are part of the CBA and “bargained.” During bargaining, a comparison of our wages and benefits (including medical and pension) occurs—NWA to our closest competitors. From this, we know our wages and benefits are above industry standard. Outside of the comparison, we also know that our turnover than others in our industry. 2019, 2020 and now 2021 data show a continued decline in our turnover rate. We totally understand that NWA may not be the right choice for everyone but, based on these facts, we believe ourselves to be an excellent employer as well as one of the industry’s best TPAs.

Pros

Organized, benefits, easy to learn role and material after some time, and made friends

Cons

Weird, nonexistent culture (encouraged and established by management), benefits only available after certain amount of months (health 3, dental 6? if I remember and vision 12). Work from home offering is bait and switch as they are actively working towards fully eliminating it.
