Pros
Salary, yearly raises (1-2%), small bonuses every April
Cons
Management! My peers were told to be glad they had jobs because there were hundreds of new graduates willing to take their jobs at less pay. None of the managers in my department had children, and it was obvious with their disregard towards the challenges faced by working parents. Horrific home-work life balance. Blantant sexism. My department was working towards all staff being "PRN" to avoid paying benefits; however it came at the cost of less competent, less reliable staff... not that management cares, all they need is a warm body. Management would change your hours with zero notice; you might get hired for first shift but they would relocate you to 2nd or 3rd shift with no remorse. Novant Health fosters a culture of fear amongst their employees, as layoffs are an almost yearly occurrence.
