      Lots of state training opportunities, yearly raise opportunities up to 4%, cheap insurance, pay differentials for nights and weekends, provides overtime instead of comp time unlike some departments

      Cons

      No 401k/403b matching investment, few opportunities for advancement, not great insurance coverage, difficult to get replacement gear or uniforms, poor command climate, no policies or procedures to guide you in doing your job, on call system that requires you be available for 12 hours but paid for 2

      Pros

      Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

      Cons

      IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

      Pros

      I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

      Cons

      Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
