Pros
Benefits 2-3 days work from home
Cons
I have only been here for a couple months and they give you generic computer training on cornerstone. When it comes to on the job training, it is very minimal. They have a lot of these HR events that you are expected to be apart of even if you have your own family and don't want to join after work or on you work from home day. Also, they schedule meetings during lunch break alot and purchase food so you have no need to take a real break from work. Your time is tracked through Accolade and your manager can micromanage you because your manager has access to everything you do. Micromanaging is a very big problem for me so now I am interviewing for other jobs. You cannot look at your phone or computer while you walk. You cannot use a small conference room for four when on confidential call or you will be asked to move to your cubicle. You cannot sit in your cubicle with privacy because the walls are so low. You can look your coworker in the eye while he works... They have all these projects but fail to explain the projects properly to incoming employees. There are many terms that novelis has within the company that they just assume everyone knows. If you ask about it, they act like you are not smart. They use LIMS to track testing done on projects but fail to show you how to use it. Most of my time here has been struggling to learn the basics of what they do. This is due to their extereme need to show that they are smart. If you have verizon as a service provider, your phone doesn't work in the area. The energy within the facility is very somber and sad. You can sense it in the air. If you don't feel watched, I promise you are being watched.
