Pros

The culture is inviting and inclusive. Leadership works hard to involve the whole team in decision making and to achieve mutually agreed on goals. Last summer there were some growing pains that are paying off. There is autonomy but also accountability. The training has greatly improved over the last 6 months. The teamwork and collaboration is effective and refreshing. Lastly the patients are the best. What a way to pay back those who are sick through no fault of their own...taking care of this population is very rewarding.

Cons

Getting your patients to agree to a visit when the weather is nice can be challenging.

Pros

As an RN working PRN, I have flexibility to choose my work days. There is a minimum requirement of 12 hours per month. I work in the patient's home as a home health nurse. I enjoy meeting and getting to know my patients and their families, teaching them about their health, and supporting their care journey as part of the health care team.

Cons

Communication between nurses can be sometimes difficult if something is not mentioned during nurses report. But we can always email the case manager or call the nurse if we have a question. I have seen it improved when we have a notebook to log daily cares and concerns in the home.
