Pros

Work 12 hour shifts, have more days off

Cons

Got stuck working every weekend for a year and I kept asking for a change in the schedule and I was ignored. Hours were cut drastically. Was not treated well. Really made my mental status be in a rough spot.

Pros

As an RN working PRN, I have flexibility to choose my work days. There is a minimum requirement of 12 hours per month. I work in the patient's home as a home health nurse. I enjoy meeting and getting to know my patients and their families, teaching them about their health, and supporting their care journey as part of the health care team.

Cons

Communication between nurses can be sometimes difficult if something is not mentioned during nurses report. But we can always email the case manager or call the nurse if we have a question. I have seen it improved when we have a notebook to log daily cares and concerns in the home.
