Pros
The core technology works and when applied in the appropriate situations, it works very well. eDiscovery, Computer Investigations, processing of large datasets to be indexed and searched and preparing to migrate data are all places Nuix does well in. The front line employees working with clients on a daily basis have the best intentions and goals, but are often handicapped as a result of poor upstream management. The talent level at Nuix is higher than average and they are great to work with, but quickly disappearing as a result of recent organizational changes.
Cons
Nuix does not belong in the cyber security arena (SOC/NOC, preventative stance, realm). This alone is not the only con. Nuix has a conflicted and less than clear vision of who and what it wants to be as a company and who their target markets are going forward. This is the direct result of a disjointed and uncommunicative group of "leaders". This is no more apparent than internally as groups around the world would define the overall goals, targets and vision differently. There are managers that see cyber security as the future primarily two reasons: 1. Potential revenue and 2. Ego. Some of the more recent hires at Nuix have a cyber security background and as a result they are trying to adapt the company to that skill set as a way to drive new revenue inorganically. Essentially trying to push a square peg into a round hole. This is not the recipe for happy employees or happy customers.
