Pros
The individual contributors are amazing! They move things along and protect the business despite senior leadership's lack of direction or even the tiniest of kahonies.
Cons
A lot of smoke will be blown into your nether regions. Senior leadership supposedly wants to move into this century, but whenever a suggestion is made to achieve such an end the power play games begin. I've never seen a senior leadership team that hates each other so much. Prepare to spend weeks on end figuring out how to name (yes title) a solution. These practices are promoted (even enjoyed) by the CIO. The CIO will not replace those that have quit because it dips into his bonus. Instead he will say "We can't just throw people at it". A few would ne nice! Nothing will get better if everyone spends every waking moment putting out fires. If you are an experienced professional prepare to have no voice. They will not listen! If you are not a full fledged follower you cannot work here without great pains. If you truly care and want to improve the culture this company will be highly frustrating until you're able to let that caring float out to sea. If you try to turn the ship they will walk you right off the plank, except they will wait until no one is looking, elbow you off the edge, and then act surprised that you're drowning in the water. All the while sharing lies of how they tried to throw you a life preserver. Anyone thinking of joining ITSS should reconsider. Work - life balance is a joke. Prepare to be available from 8am to 8pm at least 3 nights a week. As well as being told when you can take personal travel on the weekends. You need an afternoon off? You better put a PTO request in even though you've already worked 70 hours that week. There are too many opportunities out there right now. Keep moving.
