Pros

Team environment is more of a 'close-knit' feel. Open communication with peers and management staff. The cafeteria and café in most of the buildings have good food with a wide-selection. They encourage taking complete lunch breaks, 2-15 minute breaks, and mental health days. PTO accrues at a higher rate than most companies. They allow for growth within the company rather quickly compared to other companies.

Cons

Compensation is typically less than similar positions in this area. There can be also bit of chaos with disorganization. While not restricted completely, there a policies on visible tattoos and things like 'natural hair colors' due to it remaining as close to Catholic values as possible because they are centered about Catholicism. Holidays are deducted from PTO balance. While it could be related to the area I live in not being as diverse, the facility I have worked in is also not that diverse.

Pros

Strict ratios for nurses at this hospital. Med-surg never above 5 patients on day shift. Good 401k matching, good pto.

Cons

same issues as most hospital nursing environments. Being over-worked with very sick patients, feelings stretched too thin with less resources each year. that being said, this was a better environment than most hospitals.
