Pros

Loved being prn. Got to experience all clinics. Loved working with my old staff members we worked very well together. Loved most of my job assignments.

Cons

To much work on you plate for pennies. Employees are not treated fairly at all. Favoritism big time at endocrinology. One person gets wrote up for same things a lot of other employees are doing but they don't get any kind of discipline. To much work on ones plate. Short staffed always. Still looking for help after 3 months of me gone. I feel bad for all employees and doctors that stay in this situation. I as a CMA helped open clinic, arranged stock room. Ordered supplies worked lab roomed patients, worked front desk, on top of that worked expired orders, referrals, helped nurses with prescription refills faxing forms and the list goes on. Got let go for many right ups some being a min to 4 mins late. And the one that really floored me was a write up when my grandpa passed I left 2 1 1/2 hours early. But did not get a single write up when my husband cut part of finger off and I had to leave early plus last min he had surgery, never wrote up. It's a JOKE. I WILL NEVER GIVE THAT PLACE THE TIME OF DAY.

Pros

Strict ratios for nurses at this hospital. Med-surg never above 5 patients on day shift. Good 401k matching, good pto.

Cons

same issues as most hospital nursing environments. Being over-worked with very sick patients, feelings stretched too thin with less resources each year. that being said, this was a better environment than most hospitals.
