Thank you for recommending OU Medicine as a great place to work. It is encouraging to know that OU Medicine makes you feel like you are part of a “meaningful and ambitious mission.” We believe we can accomplish a great deal as a team if we are all working together toward a common goal. You are correct when you say that OU Medicine is a company that’s “growing and changing,” but we view that as a good thing. While it does bring some uncertainty, it is also an exciting time to be a part of our journey. We have a bright future ahead of us, and, with the new bed tower on the horizon, we are anticipating continued growth and improved service to our community. Thank you for your dedication to making OU Medicine’s mission a priority. Because of you and employees like you, we are able to make a difference.

Pros

Workplace Culture and Team Collaboration: Many employees appreciate the supportive, family-like atmosphere and strong teamwork within their teams and across departments. They value the camaraderie, inclusivity, and mutual respect that foster a positive work environment focused on patient care. Meaningful Work and Patient Impact: Employees find motivation and satisfaction in knowing their work directly or indirectly improves patient care and community health. This sense of purpose is a significant driver of engagement.

Cons

Degree Requirements and Career Advancement: Many employees express concern that strict degree requirements, especially for IT roles, hinder career progression and demoralize experienced staff without degrees. There is a strong preference for recognizing equivalent experience or certifications in lieu of formal degrees to promote internal mobility and retain talent.
