Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry your work experience at OU Medicine left a negative impression on you. You listed benefits as a positive aspect of working at OU Medicine. Our Total Rewards team is fully invested in providing our employees with the best benefits possible. Starting in 2019, the benefits program is receiving several upgrades and will continue to improve throughout the coming years. We face many challenges as a new organization after our divestiture from HCA. Our patients and employees are our top priority and, as a growing organization, we are working to address the transportation and parking concerns of both groups, which is a common issue with most large hospital systems across the country. We currently provide around-the-clock shuttle service, with frequent direct routes to our hospitals during peak times, such as shift change. OU Medicine has received positive feedback from many of our employees regarding our culture. We are ranked higher on Glassdoor by current and former employees than other healthcare employers in our local market. We strive to create a culture of teamwork and inclusion, where our employees are proud to come to work every day at OU Medicine. Our leadership believes in the value of our employees’ voices and welcomes constructive feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve as we strive to make OU Medicine not only a leader in patient care but also the premier healthcare employer in Oklahoma. Again, thank you for your feedback. We wish you success in your future endeavors.

Pros

Workplace Culture and Team Collaboration: Many employees appreciate the supportive, family-like atmosphere and strong teamwork within their teams and across departments. They value the camaraderie, inclusivity, and mutual respect that foster a positive work environment focused on patient care. Meaningful Work and Patient Impact: Employees find motivation and satisfaction in knowing their work directly or indirectly improves patient care and community health. This sense of purpose is a significant driver of engagement.

Cons

Degree Requirements and Career Advancement: Many employees express concern that strict degree requirements, especially for IT roles, hinder career progression and demoralize experienced staff without degrees. There is a strong preference for recognizing equivalent experience or certifications in lieu of formal degrees to promote internal mobility and retain talent.
