Pros
Company is still fairly small and getting smaller due to attrition especially among senior resources. I think the COO and CTO have the right idea, but half their middle management direct reports are out of their league.
Cons
Based on funding and slowing growth, the only exit that's probable is selling out for a lower valuation in which case common stock option holding employees will get exactly zero. All the pressure of Amazon without any perks like stock/bonuses/stability. All the lack of resources of a small company without the fun and energy of a startup. Middle Management is awful and you get no connection to the execs. Attrition is high. Low dev velocity which means it's harder to test, fail, learn, grow. Zero agility Middle managers seem to be most focused on protecting their jobs. Basically a quagmire.
