Pros

- The company has a strong market presence, however, they are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with the likes of Microsoft, who offer an almost identical product at a fraction of the cost.

Cons

- Management Issues: There are widespread concerns about management in certain departments, where incompetent leaders have created a challenging and unsupportive work environment. Certain leaders appear invincible despite never hitting their own quota and being able to disappear during the last week of the quarter. - Unattainable quotas: Very few reps appear to get to their number. Ask during your interview, "What percentage of reps hit quota last qtr/year?". - Constant fear and uncertainty: Earlier this year, Okta cut almost 10% of their global workforce, almost one year after doing the same thing. Employees live in constant fear.

Pros

A dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by top-tier talent and a deeply collaborative culture. The company successfully combines a high-growth startup mindset with agile execution, fostering continuous innovation and cross-functional support.

Cons

Like many publicly traded SaaS companies, Okta has aggressive revenue targets. Employees in sales, account management, and customer success frequently note that quotas are demanding, territories can change unexpectedly during annual restructuring, and pressure to expand accounts can lead to burnout.

Pros

Smart, talented, and supportive colleagues. Interesting products and the opportunity to work on technology that impacts many customers. Good work-life balance in most teams. Collaborative culture with opportunities to learn from experienced peers. Strong brand recognition and valuable experience for your resume

Cons

Cons Recognition is lacking, especially for individual contributors. Strong performance and consistent delivery do not necessarily translate into career advancement, promotions, or meaningful salary increases. Growth opportunities appear limited for ICs, while management roles seem to receive a greater share of advancement and compensation opportunities. After several years, many individual contributors may find themselves reaching a career plateau with few clear paths for progression. If career growth, promotion opportunities, and compensation advancement are important priorities, it may be worth evaluating other opportunities once you’ve gained experience here
