Pros

People: never have I worked with so many incredibly intelligent people who love what they do and love Okta. not a single person (in any team or job title) has ever declined to help me, answer a question, or partner up on something. I have also never worked for a company that had zero "slackers" - you will literally never see a person clowning around on Facebook during the day, standing around gossiping or complaining...I truly feel its because no one wants to! Philosophy: this is a company that embraces creativity; I feel that my ideas are welcomed and many already implemented... having only been with Okta a few months, this is HUGE for rapid career growth - something every manager makes known that they want for you. In a privately held / pre-ipo company, transparency is something we all value, but is not required. Every week there's an All Hands meeting on Friday mornings where we get total insight into every area of the business from the company's roadmap to stories from sales reps to new features in product development to stuff that was discussed in board meetings...I look forward to this every week. I could go on for days, I'm completely obsessed with my job - and no, they didn't pay me to write this - but here's a few other quick points: -There's no BS politics here. -Free lunch on MWF doesn't hurt. -People get promoted frequently, and moving across the organization to different teams is embraced/ facilitated too.

Cons

Location: SF HQ is located right near the ball park, which is a blessing and a curse (parking and traffic are brutal during baseball season) as I drive in to work every day. If you BART, the location is ideal tho.

Pros

Smart, talented, and supportive colleagues. Interesting products and the opportunity to work on technology that impacts many customers. Good work-life balance in most teams. Collaborative culture with opportunities to learn from experienced peers. Strong brand recognition and valuable experience for your resume

Cons

Cons Recognition is lacking, especially for individual contributors. Strong performance and consistent delivery do not necessarily translate into career advancement, promotions, or meaningful salary increases. Growth opportunities appear limited for ICs, while management roles seem to receive a greater share of advancement and compensation opportunities. After several years, many individual contributors may find themselves reaching a career plateau with few clear paths for progression. If career growth, promotion opportunities, and compensation advancement are important priorities, it may be worth evaluating other opportunities once you’ve gained experience here
