Pros

The culture was great at the IC and lower management level. Pay was great for comparable jobs

Cons

Problem is that all the things that made Okta the place to work are quickly getting phased out. They're targeting higher earners for layoffs and replacing them with overseas or lower paid positions. They've done layoffs three years in a row now, Feb each year; and smaller cullings throughout the year. Currently not hiring any remote positions in the US. They still pretend to be progressive company but they're quickly taking advantage of the change in political winds in the US.

Pros

A dynamic, fast-paced environment driven by top-tier talent and a deeply collaborative culture. The company successfully combines a high-growth startup mindset with agile execution, fostering continuous innovation and cross-functional support.

Cons

Like many publicly traded SaaS companies, Okta has aggressive revenue targets. Employees in sales, account management, and customer success frequently note that quotas are demanding, territories can change unexpectedly during annual restructuring, and pressure to expand accounts can lead to burnout.

Pros

Great Benefits. Fantastic product. Company is scaling (or at least trying to).

Cons

Management and company culture has grown toxic. Extremely political and dramatic. Specifically in sales, marketing, and the C-Suite. I wouldn’t recommend joining okta unless you are some type of director or above and also remote. SF just RTO’d and it’s been miserable.
