They don't promote from within UNLESS you "graduated" from their RMP program - Merchandising Assistant Old Navy Employee Review

Pros

They offer a lot of internal education, when the company does really well you might get a bonus. During the pandemic they were very understanding of people's boundaries and hesitations around going into the office.

Cons

They will expect you to do your job and two other people's job's and call it a "stretch project". Upper management will not give you a raise or promotion after doing years of other peoples work on top of your own. There is one caveat to this- going through the RMP program, without spending a year in that program... it's really not worth it.

Pros

offered some benefits, no pros besides that

Cons

Very cliquey management, the general manager had clear favorites and treated other employees as disposable and inadequate. Also did not provide training for proprietary software but still expected me to be able to operate it on day 2, and senior staff became aggressive and demeaning when I was unable to operate a software I received no training for. There was also occasional pressure from management to purchase clothing from the store during special events or sales to fit the theme of the event. Overall hostile work environment, would not recommend.
