Pros

Do yourself & career a favor, if you see a job posted in your field or that grabs your interest, apply! Safety is the #1 priority, I & D is very much embraced & in place, sustainability of how we produce our product. The ethics of how we do business is very much so a priority, tremendous room for career growth, consistent innovation, team oriented, we are a family. Open door policies, see something, say something. We are one with Oldcastle APG & CRH as a whole. I could not be more proud of where I work & the leadership we have at the Oldcastle APG I work for/with & CRH Oldcastle as a whole.

Cons

This isn't a con. We are the #1 producer of construction products groups in the world, so there is a lot to learn & take in if you will, but you have the guidance from leadership & seasoned team members. Even after 20 years I learn something new every day. You work hard, as well you should no matter where you are employed. Are there days when you are like sweet mercies? Of course! But I will tell you this, I have never once "quit in my head". If you are passionate of your work & what you do & who you do that work for, you will never really work a day in your life. Oldcastle APG is that place.

Pros

Flexible enough, small and disorganized enough that they can't come down on you too hard for small stuff. Would be a decent work life balance if you didn't end up with emotional issues and anxiety spikes from essentially experiencing narc/DARVO tactics, just in a corporate group setting.

Cons

The things that leader(s) here are seemingly able to get away with in the name of leadership, the way that they talk to people and the general culture of favoritism and corporate gaslighting/punitive treatment to those who question the tactics being used here is like something out of a movie. I would caution anyone who wants their nervous system to remain intact to refrain from accepting a role here. If you do well in mean girl groups and by blindly following ruthless authoritarian politics, then go ahead and consider- you might thrive. Regardless of all that... no real room for growth/ No career mobility unless you move divisions. No "careers" here at all, at least not in marketing. if you want a paycheck and mind games, go ahead.
