generally smart people with some really impressive pockets of capability. excellent in very specific niches, and they wisely dont seek to compete as "generalists" at MBB. That said, they want to broaden, diversify, and grow, but this this challenging when youre value prop is "narrow but deep". These growing pains are becoming more pronounced over the last 1-2 years.
